Sensation of the GC Adamstal at the Austrian state championships in team golf, which rise to the elite league of the best 8 teams of the team championships with the victory in Division 2A
The Austrian team championships took place in the general class at the Linz Luftenberg golf club from 9 to 11 August. Our team was represented in Division 2A by our Captain Maximilian Strummer, Vice Captain Lukas Grandits, Manfred Huber, Andreas Barnath, Berkecem Renda, Timo Wöll, Daniel Sprosec, David Sprosec and Dominic Machate.
The game was played in matchplay mode, that is, a hole-betting game with 2 classic fours and 5 singles. On the first of 3 match days, our team secured the important relegation with a 4.5 to 2.5 against GC Salzburg. On the second matchday, the next victory against Thermenland Fürstenfeld-Loipersdorf followed with 5 to 2 and so we were able to make it to the final.
On the final day we were the clear outsiders on paper, but thanks to our strong team spirit and tireless determination to win we were able to achieve the greatest victory in club history.
In a gripping final against the GC Salzburg-Klessheim, which was only decided by winning the 1st extra hole, it was the perfect weekend for our team.
